SMM Hamburg 2026

Taking India’s shipbuilding capabilities to the global maritime stage

Swan Defence and Heavy Industries Limited (SDHI) participated in SMM Hamburg 2026, bringing India’s shipbuilding and heavy engineering capabilities to one of the world’s leading maritime industry platforms. The event brought together shipowners, shipyards, technology providers, equipment manufacturers and industry leaders from across the globe.

Across four days, the SDHI team held discussions with customers, partners, suppliers and industry stakeholders on opportunities across shipbuilding and ship repair, while also exploring collaboration in technology, equipment, and supply chains. Among the distinguished visitors at our booth were Shri Vijay Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.

SDHI’s participation also extended beyond the exhibition floor. Promoter & Director Vivek Merchant represented the company at the India Shipping Panel Session on “Build in India for the World: The Circular Maritime Advantage.” His remarks focused on the financing requirements of shipbuilding, particularly the importance of working capital and guarantees in supporting yards as they execute large domestic and export orders.

The discussions at SMM also reinforced the importance of building an integrated maritime ecosystem around shipbuilding — bringing together shipyards, equipment manufacturers, technology providers, suppliers and other industry participants. This aligns with SDHI’s broader focus on building scale and capability while strengthening India’s position in the global maritime value chain.

We thank every partner, supplier and visitor who stopped by Hall B2 – your time, ideas and trust mean everything as we chart the next chapter of SDHI’s journey.
